COOZE, Bethany

The McGill Bermuda Scholarship

The McGill Bermuda Scholarship Trust is delighted to report that Bermuda High School student Bethany Cooze has been awarded the McGill Bermuda Scholarship 2024.

Miss Cooze’s early exposure to business came through her winning participation in the 2020 KPMG Investment Challenge, and she is now on course for a Bachelor of Commerce at McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

The 18-year-old distinguished herself in completing the International Baccalaureate Diploma with a final score of 41. Miss Cooze studied Mathematics, Economics and English at Higher Level, and French, Biology and Chemistry at Standard Level. Miss Cooze also successfully completed 9 IGCSEs with top scores.

Miss Cooze has been active in the community, having volunteered as a Candy Striper at the Bermuda Hospital, and more recently, having worked as a Surf Lifeguard for the Bermuda Lifeguard Service. She intends to develop her interest in accounting applications from within the McGill Desautels Accounting Society, and as a member of the McGill Entrepreneurship Society.

The McGill Bermuda Scholarship Trust was established in Bermuda in 1989 and offers the Dudley and Deborah Butterfield Scholarship and the McGill Bermuda Graduates Scholarship in alternate years.
