The McGill Bermuda Scholarship

Bermuda High School student Kristy Sanchez Vega has been awarded the McGill Bermuda Scholarship 2022.

Miss Sanchez Vega, who is currently finishing an internship at the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences (BIOS), will begin study towards a Bachelor of Science in Biological, Biomedical and Life Sciences at McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

The 18-year-old distinguished herself in completing the International Baccalaureate Diploma with the highest distinctions, scoring a perfect 45. Miss Sanchez Vega studied Biology, Economics and English at Higher Level, and French, Mathematics and Chemistry at Standard Level. Prior to undertaking the IB program of study, Miss Sanchez Vega successfully completed 12 IGCSEs with top scores.

Miss Sanchez Vega’s commitment to environmental and social activism is noteworthy. She has been active within the Bermuda Zoological Society (BZS) as well as within Greenrock Bermuda. She also intends to continue her work in environmental and social advocacy with the McGill Students for Greenpeace, and Sustain McGill.
